Discover Petropavlovsk on the Russian peninsula of Kamchatka and enjoy one of the world’s most breath-taking views – Avacha Bay and the surrounding volcanic mountains. Then we reach the glaciers and fjords of Alaska.
Day 1-2: Tokyo, Japan. Private transfer to your hotel. 1 night including breakfast. On day 3 private transfer to the port of Tokyo. Embarkation on board the Crystal Symphony
Day 3: Tokyo; departure 18:00 hours. Extensive, hectic and endlessly fascinating, the capital of Japan is a city of contrasts. Sanctuaries and gardens are quiet spots between famous busy streets and towering o ce buildings.
Day 4 : Cruise day at sea.
Day 5: Hakodate, Japan; 07:00-17:00 hours. On the waterfront overlooking the port of Hakodate, there is a shopping center in the restored warehouses.
Day 6 and 7: Cruise days on the North Paci c Ocean.
Day 8 : Kamchatka, Petropavlovsk, Russia; 08:00- 22:00 hours. There are still 30 active volcanoes, 1,200 plant species and 240 bird species. It also contains the largest concentration of wild brown bears in the world. It is also a paradise for lynxes, wolves, beavers and moose.
Day 9-10: Cruise days at sea. Eastern Crossing of the International Dateline.
Day 11: Dutch Harbor, Alaska; 08:00-18:00 hours. Sea lions belong to the unique and abundant ora and fauna of this region. You can also see whales, seals, otters, porpoises and rare seabirds.
Day 12: Cruising the Gulf of Alaska
Day 13: Kodiak, Alaska; 08:00-21:00 hours. The island of Kodiak is beautifully green thanks to the abundant summer rains. There are plenty of things to see here, including sh and other animals.
Day 14: Cruising the North Paci c Ocean
Day 15: Cruising Hubbard Glacier. An immense glacier that rises like a wall and has a length of over 100 kilometres. When the sunlight shines on it, the ice glistens and shows a wide palette of blue in the compressed ice.
Day 16: Skagway, Alaska; 07:00-18:00 hours. As the gateway to the gold veins in the hinterland, the number of inhabitants rose from 2 to 10,000 in the illustrious nal years of the 19th century! In the meantime there is still a tenth of that and of the eighty saloons there is still a handful. You can also use a sieve and pan to look for grains of gold.
Day 17: Sitka, Alaska; 08:00-18:00 hours. Well before the Russians arrived in 1799, the Tlingit lived here; in 1867 Sitka fell into American hands. Partly due to its isolated location, the place still has traces of a diverse cultural past.
Day 18: Ketchikan, Alaska; 12:00-21:00 hours. Here you will get to know the culture of the original inhabitants. On the coast their totem poles were famous devotional monuments. Day 19: Cruising the Inside Passage.
Day 20: Victoria, Canada. More than two centuries ago Captain Cook moored on Vancouver Island, where a British period began. Double-deckers and tea houses make Victoria one of the most British-looking Canadian cities.
Day 21: Vancouver, Canada; 08:00-18:00 hours. The mountains and the sea view make the city a starting point for mountain hikes, skiing, kayaking, cycling and sailing – and much more.
Day 22: Cruising the West Coast of USA
Day 23-24: San Francisco, California; arrival 18:00 hours. Disembarkation in the morning
