NEW ZEALAND GRANDEUR

Adventure and culture come together on this spectacular journey with the enormous wonders of Australia and New Zealand; a visit to picturesque Port Arthur reveals Australia’s early colonial history.   

Accommodations

Day 1-2 : Auckland, new Zealand. On arrival private transfer to your hotel for a 2 night stay. Auckland is called the ‘City of Sails’. A fine city with everything within easy reach: beaches and forests. But you can spend a day in the harbour alone.

Day 3-4: Auckland, New Zealand Private transfer to the port and embarkation on board of the Crystal Symphony. On day 4 departure at 18:00 hours.

Day 5: Tauranga, New Zealand; 06:00-00:00 hours. Tauranga is the largest city in the Bay of Plenty and one of the fastest growing in the country. The center has several historically important neighbourhoods to explore during a walk. The Strand Waterfront is modern and lively with a number of cafes, restaurants, pubs and nightclubs.

Day 6-7: Napier, New Zealand; 08:00-17:00 hours next day. The twin towns of Napier and Hastings on the east coast of the North Island are unique. This region is blessed with a California-Mediterranean climate and is covered with colourful vineyards and orchards.

Day 8: Picton, New Zealand; 09:00-17:00 hours. Known for outdoor activities such as fishing, kayaking, cycling and hiking. The region is also popular for observing the animals in the area, including birds, seals and dolphins. On the waterfront of Picton you will find many cafes and restaurants.

Day 9: Christchurch, New Zealand; 08:00-19:30 hrs. At a 90 minute drive from Christchurch, lies the charming village of Akaroa, the oldest colonial town on the South Island of New Zealand. The port of Akaroa is home to the rarest and smallest dolphin, the Hector dolphin, as well as New Zealand fur seals, Little Blue Penguins and many different birds and exotic plants. This welcoming city is still a favourite among New Zealand destinations.

Day 10-11: Dunedin, New Zealand; 07:30-17:00 hours next day. The charming city of Dunedin is located in the southeast of New Zealand and has Scottish roots. There are many Victorian buildings in the city that are richly decorated with towers, facades and gargoyles. Surprisingly, the area is also home to local wildlife, which is rarely found so close to a big city.

Day 12-14: Cruise days at sea. Cruise through Milford Sound, Doubtful and Dusty Fjord and across the Tasmanian Sea. .

Day 15-16: Hobart, Tasmania; 07:00-09:00 hours the next morning and Port Arthur; 12:00-18:00 hrs. The open-hearted and friendly character of the present city, belies its history as a penal colony. Around 1830 it served as a whaling centre. Today the warehouses ashore at Salamanca Place are filled with shops and restaurants, and the houses of the settlers in Batterie Park are lovingly restored by proud owners. Visit the dazzling new Museum of old and new art. .

Day 17: Cruise day at sea. Day 18-19: Sydney, Australia; 08:00 hours. Sydney is a multicultural city surrounded by golden sandy beaches, World Heritage sites, national parks and wine regions. Sydney owes much of its splendour to its grandiose harbour, where it flaunts the city’s major attractions upon arrival: the iconic Opera House and the famous Harbour Bridge. You stay tonight for the last time on board of the Crystal Symphony. Disembarkation on day 19.
