TALE OF 1001 NIGHTS

Day 1-2: Mumbai, India. On arrival private transfer to your hotel where you will stay 1 overnight. It is often said that visitors nd Mumbai fantastic or even terrible. It is a hectic and chaotic city with over 13 million citizens. You can marvel at a variety of street scenes, from bazars to exclusive shops, exuberant wealth to extreme poverty, mystical sanctuaries and places where no morality seems to prevail. What it scores high with everywhere is the culinary o erings that are o ered until the wee hours, both in very exclusive restaurants and food stalls on the street. Private transfer to the port in Mumbai and embarkation on board the Silver Shadow.

Day 3: Cruise day at sea

Day 4: Porbandar, India; 08.00-18.00 hours. The birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi, the man who achieved India’s independence through non-violent protest in 1948, remains a place of pilgrimage for large ows of people. Nickname of Porbandar is The White City, because of the many white stone buildings.

Day 5: Cruise day at sea

Day 6-7: Muscat, Oman; 13.00-19.00 hours next day. Muscat, also spelled as Masqat, is the capital of Oman. The fort Bait Al Falaj, the opera house, the city gate and numerous mosques o er impressive sights. Muscat also houses the royal palace. At the Hotel Al Bustan Palace you can drink tea as if you were visiting the sultan. From Muscat, excursions go to the wadis: tropical oases in a cork dry landscape.

Day 8: Fujairah, United Arab Emirates; 08.00-13.00 hours. The emirate of Fujairah contrasts with the ultra- modern image of Dubai or Abu Dhabi, for example. Fujairah City still has many striking testimonies of its cultural heritage in the form of mosques and fortresses. The oldest mosque is the Al Bidya (1446).

Day 9: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; 09.00- 19.00 hours. Abu Dhabi is the largest of the seven emirates. The capital is situated on a at sandy island and is connected to the mainland by two bridges. Mineral portraits are in between shiny glass high- rise buildings. The Sheikh Zayed mosque is the largest of the UAE. On the arti cial Yas Island a Formula I racing circuit has been built. There are 20 curves, one of which passes underneath the Yas Viceroy Hotel.

Day 10: Doha, Qatar; 08.00-10.00 hours. As a result of Qatar’s oil and gas, per capita income rose to the highest in the world and in a few decades, the shiny metropolis emerged. Apart from that, the Qatarians are in the minority here, Doha is a city of expats. The land reclamation project The Pearl consists of one large and twelve smaller islands. The Rialto Bridge, squares and canals have been built according to examples in Venice.

Day 11: Dubai, United Arab Emirates; Arrival 08.00 hours. Dubai is an extraordinarily modern and vibrant city, a city of superlatives in all kinds of elds, which has rapidly developed into a favourite destination for Westerners. There are beautiful sandy beaches, luxury shopping centers, plenty of sports facilities, from ski and skating to golf courses, but also a traditional souk for herbs and gold. Let the entire scene from the 830 m high Burj Khalifa, the world’s highest skyscraper, pass through to you. Disembarkation, end of yout journey.
