Vancouver will be your starting and finishing base, so you can take full advantage of the Inside Passage, the fjord coast dotted with islands. Hopefully humpback whales and orcas will show up. The salmon-rich waters also have great appeal to bears. Fjords and islands offer a constantly changing panorama
Day 1-2: Vancouver, Canada. Private transfer to your hotel. Vancouver is a wonderful combination of urban sophistication and adventurous wilderness at the doorstep. Private transfer to the port and embarkation. Departure 17:00 hours.
Day 3: Cruising the Queen Charlotte Sound
Day 4: Rudyerd Bay, Alaska; 08:00-18:00 hours. The Misty Fjords known is a large area of spectacular wilderness located on the Inside Passage of Southeast Alaska. Sailing through the Behm Canal we reach the picturesque Rudyerd Bay, from where optional guided Zodiac excursions are organised from the ship, to admire the landscape and the animals from nearby.
Day 5: Wrangell, Alaska; 07:00-17:00 hours. At the mouth of the River Stikine, thousands of years ago, it was an important place for the Tlingit tribe because of its trade with the inland. The Stikine River was the rst route of gold mining. Unforget- table are the encounters with black and brown bears in the nearby Anan Bear and Wildlife Observatory.
Day 6: Sitka, Alaska; 08:00-17:00 hours. The Tlingit Indians lived on the Baranof island with its wooded backdrop well before the Russians came here; in 1867 Sitka fell into American hands. Partly due to its isolated location, the place still has traces of a diverse cultural past.
Day 7: Inian Islands, Alaska; 04:30-10:30 hours. The Inian Islands consist of half a dozen small, rocky islands located at the Paci c Ocean. The nutrient- rich waters provide an abundant density of marine life, including whales, seals and sea lions, otters and seabirds. The islands also support populations of brown bears, Sitka deer with black tail, land otters, minks, squirrels and land birds. The eet of Zodiacs and sea kayaks can sail through this area and are led by experts. Next: Icy Strait Point, Alaska, 14:00-20:00. Located at the entrance to Glacier Bay National Park. It was created to provide visitors with an educational experience about Alaska’s indigenous cultures and history.
Day 8: Juneau, Alaska; 07:00-23:00 hours. Juneau is the capital of Alaska and is only accessible by boat or plane. Joe Juneau drilled a large gold vein here during the gold rush. The past and the present here merge into one another. But the main attraction is outside the city: the Mendenhall Glacier, an ice path of almost 20 km in length that is easily accessible and extremely photogenic.
Day 9: Scenic cruising Tracy Arm or Endicott Arm, 07:00-17:00 hours. Tracy Arm is a fjord with at the end a twin glacier: the Sawyer
Day 10: Ketchikan, Alaska; 12:00-22:00 hours. After crossing the Decision Passage and Snow Pass we moor in Ketchikan.
Day 11: Prince Rupert, 08:00-18:00 hours. A place on the edge of the wilderness, where people are by far in the minority compared to animals. Then the trip continues through Grenville Channel and Princess Royal Channel, the most picturesque canals in the Inside Passage with steeply overgrown walls. You will be amazed.
Day 12: Klemtu, Canada; 08:00-17:00 hours. On Swindle Island in the fjords of the coast of British Columbia lies Klemtu.
