FROM VENICE TO ATHENS

Day 1-3: Venice, Italy On arrival private transfer to your hotel where you will stay 1 night based on accommodation and breakfast. Romantic Venice, city of and on the water, is one big open-air museum. City palaces reflect in the canals, where gondoliers conveniently manoeuvre their gondolas through the water. From Saint Mark’s Square (Piazza San Marco), the wide water beckons. Private transfer to the port for embarkation on day 3. Departure 21:00 hours.

Day 4: Pula, Croatia, 08:00-14:00 hours. The beautiful city of Pula is where you will find Croatia’s famous amphitheatre, one of the best preserved amphitheatres in the world. Pula is very centrally located and therefore a good base to explore Istria.

Day 5: Dubrovnik, Croatia, 08:00-22:00 hours. Dubrovnik is the superlative of monumental cities of the Adriatic Sea. It has suffered most of all during the 1991-1995 Croatian war of independence but has been gloriously restored in the meantime. Red roofs of the 17th-century patrician houses and palaces form an extremely photogenic setting. The complete walled city is a World Heritage Site.

Day 6: Brindisi, Italy, 08:00-18:00 hours. Brindisi is located in Puglia, the heel of the Italian boot. It is located at the end of the Via Appia, the historic road that starts in Rome. Brindisi has a beautiful historic center, with impressive churches, palaces and atmospheric streets and alleys with restaurants and cafes. An excursion to the baroque capital Lecce is possible. Characteristic of the region are the trulli houses: round, limestone cottages with grey pointed roofs which often depicting magic symbols. The houses often form a continuous ribbon or block.

Day 7: Cruise day at sea

Day 8: Chania, Greece; 08:00-16:00 hours. The second largest city of Crete, Chania. The city is divided into two parts; the old city, which consists of several connected districts built around the old Venetian port, and the new city, larger and more modern. It is one of the most picturesque and cosy places of Crete. When you come into the old city you will taste the special atmosphere.

Day 9: Rhodos, Greece; 08:00-18:00 hours. Rhodes is a city with 2 parts. The old medieval city has towers, castles and old city walls and is a UNESCO world heritage site. Here you will find cosy terraces, restaurants, souvenir shops and cobbled alleys and the new city, where the modern shops are located.

Day 10: Santorini, Greece; 08:00-19:00 hours. Without doubt the most special island in the Aegean Sea, Santorini. Santorini has a fascinating and at the same time impressive history. When approaching the island and seeing the caldera (crater) and the volcano you will immediately be impressed. many tourists visit Thira (also a name for Santorini) for its beautiful sunsets.

Day 11: Piraeus, Greece; arrival 08:00 hours. Athens, the most southern capital of Europe, is the gateway to Greece and the ancient world. The marble monuments of the Acropolis, which rise majestically above the city, are a symbol of the city’s past. At the foot of the Acropolis is the lively Plaka district situated where you can relax on a terrace of one of the many tavern’s while enjoying a drink and a typical Greek delicacy. Your cruise has come to an end.
