MYSTIC & MEMORIES OF THE PAST

Discover the silent power of Indonesia, the stories that lie behind a paragon of beauty. From colonial past to rice fields, from fragrant and colourful markets to impressive volcanoes. In the busy and very large Jakarta you have no idea about that.

Accommodations

Day 1: Singapore Private transfer from the airport to your hotel. The most beautiful sight of Singapore is probably the magnificent skyline of the city. Especially in the evening and night you have a beautiful view of the city from the Marina bay.

Day 2: Singapore, departure 17.00 hours. Private transfer to the port of Singapore where you embark the Silver Muse.

Day 3: Cruise day at sea

Day 4: Jakarta, Indonesia; 08.00-18.00 hours. Kota Tua is the historic part of Jakarta, Old Batavia, on the north side of the city. You will see the old warehouses, the harbour, the government square and the former town hall, silent witnesses of the colonial past. The cargo sailing port of Soenda Kelapa is definitely a place to take a look; for more ship details, head into Kebaharian Jakarta, the maritime museum. Popular is the view from the 137 meter high MONAS tower on the Merdekaplein. At the top stands a bronze flame covered with gold.

Day 5: Karimunjawa, Indonesia; 12.00-23.00 hours. Only a few of the dozens of Karimunjawa islands are inhabited, white sandy beaches are all around. The main island has a hilly interior and mangroves. Just slowing down.

Day 6: Semarang, Java, Indonesia; 08.00-23.00 hrs. The port city of Semarang has both an old Dutch quarter and a Chinatown. Batik and wajang dolls will bring you back to Indonesia.

Day 7: Cruise day at sea. The SPA is beckoning.

Day 8: Probolinggo, Indonesia; 08.00-19.00 hours. On the pasar of Probolinggo the fragrances form a sample of what the local region has to offer. The place is a good start for trips to waterfalls and rice fields in the area and to the Bromo volcano.

Day 9: Celukan Bawang, Bali; 08.00-18.00 hours. Bali is an island with intense colours, from the green rice terraces that form the stairs to the heaven of the Balinese gods, to the ultra-blue sea and sky. The island is bordered by a rim of golden yellow beaches with colourful coral gardens outside. The population is colourful and very attentive. Solemn ceremonies always have a cheerful undertone and even the smallest gestures are accompanied by a flower and a smile. So much beauty and joy of life has attracted all kinds of visitors for decades. From peace seekers and yoga practitioners to adventurers and (life) artists from all over the world.

Day 10-15: Benoa (Denpasar), arrival 08.00 hours. Disembarkation and transfer to your hotel. In the busy capital Denpasar, several temples offer mystical resting points. The shops and markets have great appeal. On the Pasar Kumbasari there are plenty of handicrafts for sale, including textiles. In the basement there is an evening market. Or visit the Bali Museum where you can learn a lot about the Balinese history and art. You will have a 5 night stay in Bali in a luxury resort to have relaxing Christmas days in the sun.
