The beautiful city of Copenhagen is the prelude to a great fjord cruise. You will have plenty of opportunity to experience the beauty of nature from a water and land perspective. What a greatness. Bergen is a lively interlude.
Day 1-2: Copenhagen, Danmark Private transfer to your 5* hotel where for a 1 night stay. Copenhagen is an old and yet trendy city. Coloured historic facades adorn the Nyhavn, the royal Rosenborg Slot has a beautiful art collection and there are numerous modern styled shops and galleries. Maybe you can go to Copenhagen’s famous opera on your free night, or visit restaurant Noma…. And of course you want to see the mermaid. You will board at the Silver Spirit. She leaves the next day at 18:00 hours.
Day 3: Oslo, Norway, 12:00-00:00 hours. Oslo is a cosmopolitan metropolis with prosperous businesses and a thriving nightlife. Once overlooked by travellers to Scandinavia, Oslo is now a major tourist destination and the gateway to what many consider to be Scandinavia’s most picturesque country.
Day 4: Arendal, Norway, 12:00-19:00 hours. Approaching the picturesque Norwegian town of Arendal, located on the south coast, is a place to slow down and relax as you are surrounded by the gentle beauty of Norway.
Day 5: Cruise day at sea. A moment to recover from all the impressions on land. Let yourself be pampered in the SPA.
Day 6: Flåm, Norway, 08:00-16:30 hours. Flåm lies at the ends of deep fjords. At Flåm a famous railway line leads over a steep stretch to Myrdal. This architectural masterpiece from the first half of the 20th century is one of the most spectacular lines in the world, with turning tunnels and bends that bridge the difference in height from 2 to 866 metres in 18 kilometres.
Day 7: Hellesylt, Norway; 9:00-10:00 hours & Geiranger, Norway; 12:00-8:00 hours. To reach the famous Geiranger you can disembark in Hellesylt and participate in an excursion over land to the beautiful Geiranger. One of the most spectacular and probably the most famous fjord in Norway, which is 16 km long. Enjoy the view of the high mountains, lakes and colourful buildings like beads in the green. Many waterfalls, including the Seven Sisters and the Bridal Veil, plunge into the world-famous fjord.
strong>Day 8: Andalsnes, Norway; 08:00-13:00 hours & Molde, Norway; 15:30-21:00 hours. The picturesque Molde is nice to stroll through and there is an interesting open-air museum. Or see the fjord from a different perspective: the coastal roads give spectacular scenes.
Day 9: Bergen, Norway, 12:00-23:00 hours. You will immediately experience the atmosphere of Bergen: the seven mountains that surround the city, the lively and colourful Hanseatic shipyard Bryggen, protected by UNESCO. In the old quarter are cafes and terraces, plenty of shops with typical Norwegian utensils and trinkets and historical museums. A cable car goes to one of the hills, where restaurant Sky:Skraper combines a culinary trip with views. Classical music lovers can quickly be brought to the house of Edvard Grieg. Here in Troldhaugen he composed from his garden house many of his best-known works.
Day 10: Cruise day at sea.
Day 11: Aarhus, Denmark, 08:00-22:00 hours. Aarhus is Denmark’s second largest city and, with its funky art and university community, one of the country’s most pleasant.
Day 12: Copenhagen, arrival 08:00 hours. Disembarkation. End of your cruise.
